Throwbacks are not only for old photos, 21st century movies and computer games are also a blast-from-the past reboots of the classic favorites.
Adding up to the long list of latest throwbacks, game developers recently announced the return of the sci-fi-movie-inspired game, the "Star Wars Battlefront 3," Air Herald reported.
"After a long hiatus, the 'Star Wars: Battlefront' franchise is finally seeing light again with the upcoming third installment." A result of Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE partnership, the game will go back to its original Star Wars roots.
Contrary to the reports that the game series' third installment will be based on the upcoming "Star Wars VII movie," Battlefront 3 developers reiterated that the new game will opt for a more traditional theme. "What we're building is more rooted in the traditional Star Wars Universe and not so much necessarily linked to the movies being made," Patrick Soderland of EA said in an interview.
Because of this, fans of the original "Star Wars" movie can expect settings and features of the "Battlefront 3" will be based on the film's original version. Developers of the game have been tweeting teasing details for the upcoming video game.
According to the game creators who are currently playtesting the game, "Star Wars Battlefront 3" will include the famous Mos Eisley Cantina, which Obi-Wan described as a "wretched hive of scum and villainy."
There are also guesses that icy planet Hoth will be seen in "Battlefront 3" after a playtester stated that he is 'playing around the snow. The full of chilling white snow planet, Hoth, is famous setting from The Empire Strikes Back.
In terms of "Star Wars Battlefront 3" release date, Christianpost reported that there is still no announcement from the creators of the game. Although there are rumors that the movie-inspired game will be launched on a date close to new "Star Wars" movie release date next year.
Moviepilot expressed avid video-gamers' hopes that the "Star Wars Battlefront 3" will have improved playing environment and new changes that will highlight the well-received features of the video game series. "If Dice bring anything from their series into Battlefront, I hope and pray that it is destructible environments."
