Nokia Lumia 530 Review: A Cheap Windows Phone So Don't Expect Anything Fancy
To be clear, the Windows operated Nokia Lumia 530 is very affordable compared to the iPhone or Nexus, The Independent reports. It is designed for a separate market who doesn't need the expensive ones and who don't mind using a phone with a Windows operating system. The price for a Nokia Lumia 530 without a SIM can reach around $ 150 USD
The Nokia Lumia 530 replaces its predecessor, the 520, which was a success for Microsoft. Despite the new name designation and some changes in design, Nokia models look practically the same, as per Techradar. The 530 still has the colorful plastic case, a small 4 inch display screen and 5 MP camera resolution.
The Nokia Lumia 530 has a better display resolution though at 854 x 480p. But still, with only 244 ppi, the display resolution is quite poor. It is powered by Qualcomm Quad core Snapdragon 200 processor running at 1.2 GHz.
Since this is a budget phone, user should not expect the Lumia 530 will have a stylish design. Like its predecessor, it comes with bright green or orange casing but there are black and white casings available. It is quite chunky but most of the phone handset at its price category are usually are.
The dimension of the 530 is approximately 120 x 62 x 13 mm and weighs around 130 grams. The phone is equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and it also has micro USB slot. The Lumia 530 do not have apps requiring much battery power which means that a 1430 mAh is quite sufficient for this phone.
The camera for this phone is lacking in several areas. First, there are no auto bright options and it has no flash.
The Nokia Lumia 530 has the much improved version of Windows Phone 8.1 for its OS. User will get Instagram wallpaper and several apps that can track your data and battery usage. Those who are into social networks like Facebook and Twitter will have no problem with Lumia 530.
It faces serious competition though from other budget priced Smartphones that are running on Android. The Motorola Moto E has almost the same retail price as the Lumia 530. This Android operated phone has better display and capabilities compared to the 530.
Its predecessor, the Lumia 520 was very successful when it first entered the market, and this time however, the Lumia 530 may have difficulty replicating that feat.
The Nokia Lumia 530 while affordable by many will have to face stiff competition from the similarly priced android phones.
