'Captain America 3' Will Feature Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Moves Release Date Moves Up to Avoid Conflict
Tony Stark will return for Captain America 3 and Robert Downey Jr. will fill his shoes again. According to Variety, the movie plot will see Tony Stark fighting with "Captain America's alter-ego Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) as they battle over the Superhero Registration Act. This Act forces anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their identities to the U.S. government and comply to act as a police force for the authorities. Stark is in support of the program, but Rogers is not, saying it threatens civil liberties, causing sides to be taken and Rogers, among others, to go on the run to avoid arrest. The moral question and battle with his Avengers teammate essentially makes Stark a villain of sorts."
Downey Jr. will reportedly earn a staggering $40 million to play Stark in Captain America 3.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice officially moved up the release date for the movie by two months earlier this Summer. Originally slated for a May 6, 2016 release, the movie is now set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016, according to Deadline.
One of the main reasons for the switch, was so the DC movie could avoid going head to head with Marvel film Captain America 3, which is also set with a release date of May 6, 2016. Do you like the idea of them switching the dates or do you wish they could compete head to head in the box office?
We know that the cast stars are set as Ben Affleck (Batman) and Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman). Also cast for the movie are Gal Gadot (Diana Prince/Wonder Woman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), Tao Okamoto (Luther's assistant, Mercy Graves), and Holly Hunter (U.S. Senator).
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an upcoming American superhero film featuring the DC Comics characters Superman and Batman and is the intended sequel to 2013's Man of Steel and the second installment in the DC Cinematic Universe. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio, from a story by Snyder and David S. Goyer.
The sequel was announced at 2013 San Diego Comic Con International, after the release of Man of Steel. Snyder and Goyer were both brought back in June 2013. Pre-production began at East Los Angeles College in October 2013, with principal photography starting in May 2014 in Detroit, Michigan.
