'Manhattan' Season 2: New Contract From the Network WGN America
The cable network WGN America was convinced to renew contract with the producers of "Manhattan" whereas they had an average total view of 1.223 million, based from the season episode, leaving this as a good impression for the network in achieving their goal for delivering the best quality of the Original Series.
The plot is about the unknown place in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where residents are funded by the federal government in exchange, they have to build an atomic bomb, and it's said that it will be the first bomb in the world. The setting of the film is in the year 1943 when the Manhattan Project was still on, the only groups who have knowledge about the weapon are the scientists and the government, but families of two parties don't have any idea what's about to be made in the hidden town.
The scientists chosen by the government to complete the plan are; John Benjamin Hickey who leads the team named Dr. Frank Winter, and her wife Dr. Liza Winter (botanist) the person behind the character is Olivia Williams, another couple in the field Dr. Charlie (Ashley Zukerman) and Abby Isaacs (Rachel Brosnahan), Dr. Glenn Babbit (Daniel Stern) as mentor of the team, another female in the group Dr. Helen Prins (Katja Herbers), Dr. Paul Crosley (Harry Llyod). Other main characters who will complete the cast; Dr. Winter's daughter, Alexia Fast as Callie Winter, Dr. Jim Meeks (Christopher Denham), Dr. Louis (Michael Chernus).
An overview about the Manhattan Project, this research and development was recorded in the history during the World War II, this venture was led by the United States, together with the supporting countries of the United Kingdom and Canada and it ran for about 4 years from 1942 to 1946. The actual design of the atomic bomb was derived from the idea of a Major General. In the long run British got the concept and made a prototype for they named it, Tube Alloys.
The series will continue next year 2015, and no one from their side has ever announced an exact date for the season premiere, furthermore, it is the about the history of atomic bombs that is supposed to use as a defense weapon, but they didn't think that it will also become a big threat which every country has it.
