One Lucky Duck! John Luke Robertson of 'Duck Dynasty' Engaged at 19; Hopes to Have a Long-Lived Marriage Like His Parents
Conquacktulations! This greeting flooded the web after news of "Duck Dynasty" and Robertson clan's third generation's engagement broke out. John Luke Robertson, grandson of Duck Dynasty's family patriarch Phil, proposed and got a "Yes!" from his girlfriend Mary Kate McEacharn during his 19th birthday last Friday, Hollywood Life reported.
John Luke and Mary Kate's engagement can mean that avid viewers of the reality show would hear some wedding bells in the future. The 19-year old Robertson proposed to his lady love Mary Kate during his birthday celebration. The couple both attended Ouchita Christian School and started dating last March.
After the down-on-one-knee moment, Robertson posted a picture on Instagram - a photo of him beside his soon-to-be-bride wearing her engagement ring, People reported.
The young "Duck Dynasty" star captioned their photo, with 'Future Mrs. Robertson' sign, and "She. Said. Yes." McEacharn responded also in Instagram with a black and white version of the same photo with the statement, "Happy Birthday to the boy I'm going to marry".
Robertson's sister showed her support to the lovely couple by posting her photo with her brother and soon-to-be-sister-in-law. Rebecca Robertson captioned the picture, tagging McEacharn, "@missmarymcmcmc so excited to be your sister". Another clan member, Reed Robertson, tagged the sweet event as the 'coolest engagement/birthday party ever'.
Early engagement and young marriage seemed to run on the family's blood. In an interview with E! Online, Willie and Korie Robertson's oldest son recalled how his parents, who also married young, remained in love after more than two decades of marriage.
"I know my parents married young as well, and they have always been examples of what 'could be' to me." Robertson added that for 22 years, his parents seemed 'more in love than ever' and said he hopes that the same would happen to him and McEacharn, who he considered his best friend also.
Willie and Korie Robertson married when he was 19 and she was 18. John Luke was their eldest among their five children. The groom-to-be mother posted her own excitement in twitter as she tweeted "Yes it's true @John316Luke923 proposed to this beauty @MaryKateMcE last night! We couldn't be more excited."
John Luke and the rest of the Robertsons are starring in their high-rating reality/family show "Duck Dynasty."
