Google Vs. Apple: Google Releases the Android 'Lollipop' /Android 5.0 OS Along with Nexus 6 Smartphone to Battle iPhone 6/ Plus
It seems that Google is coming out with bigger and expensive versions of the Nexus phone and tablet in order to attract more affluent clientele from Apple's shelves for the iPad and the iPhone. Apparently there is also a new streaming video and music device, the Nexus Player which is going to compete with Apple TV and Roku, but truth be told, there is not much hope in that arena, considering Google's history in the television streaming department. Both of the Nexus devices are going to run on a new version of Google's Android operating system. This is very recently developed software dubbed 'Lollipop' which is in the tradition of Google naming their products after treats; take for example, Jellybean and Ice-cream sandwich.
The software, "Lollipop" or Android 5.0 is an upgraded operating system for mobile systems has been designed to be quite flexible to work with all devices and be customized in the way the client sees fit. This is an advantage over Apple which requires other Apple devices for synchronization. For the reason that Android gives away the Android software, other devices which are running on the software usually go for less on the market as compared to the iPhone or the iPad. This is turn has enabled those who are not able to reach the iPhone price range to get a Smartphone for less. As such, Apple retaliated by investing more on the app department for customization because these owners usually have more disposable income.
It seems that Google is aiming for more of the affluent market that Apple commands through the Nexus series. The new Smartphone device, the Nexus 6 has an almost 6 inch quad HD display which is way bigger than the 5.5 inch display of the iPhone 6 released last month. The Nexus 6 comes available with a turbo charger so users can get up to 6 hours of use with 15 percent charge. The phone processor is a Snapdragon 805 quad core 2.7 GHz. The memory options for the device are 32 GB and 64 GB.
