Upcoming OnePlus 2 Latest News and Rumors; Possible OnePlus 2 Release Date 2015
The Chinese-produced OnePlus 1 was one of the hit mobile devices of 2014. Designed to compete with Samsung's Galaxy S5 and other similar handhelds in the market such as the Google Nexus 5 and the HTC One M8, the OnePlus had the aim of providing no less than high end specs as well as deliver a super efficient, user friendly experience without having to spend so much money.
Considering the success that its predecessor achieved in the market within just a short period, it is not much of a surprise, therefore, that the Chinese company is now quick to follow it up with a OnePlus 2 (codenamed 'Lettuce' throughout this project, apparently-interestingly enough, the OnePlus had the codename of 'Bacon').
A recent leak about the production didn't mention anything about the OnePlus smartphone specs or hardware, however, or even a definitive release date for the upcoming smartphone. Although as for now, we can safely assume that, based on what the company has done with the OnePlus One, the OnePlus 2 will be much more high-end with enhanced and more decent specs-preferably a wider LTE support which, according to some reviews, its predecessor was kind of lacking.
As for the OnePlus 2 release date and upon inquiry on whether or not the OnePlus 2 will be soon readily available, OnePlus' Carl and David revealed as much in a recent Reddit AMAA session:
"Not in 2014. We understand that our current method may be slowing our growth down, but we'd rather grow slower and in a healthy way than taking too much risk and going out of business. Risk management is extra important in our scenario where we don't have hardware margins."
