Danny Gokey's #1 for a Second Time with "Tell Your Heart to Beat Again"

American Idol's Danny Gokey scores his second No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart (dated June 11) with "Tell Your Heart to Beat Again." The single climbs 2-1 with 11 million audience impressions in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music. Gokey;s first Christian Airplay leader was his 2014 debut Christian music single, "Hope in Front of Me" which lingered for three weeks.
On the airplay/sales/streaming-based Hot Christian Songs chart, "Heart" rose to No. 2 in April, his highest peak to date.
Gokey talks about this song on Facebook: "I dedicate this song to all those who need 2016 to be a better year than the years before. Disappointments, past failures and broken relationships may have left you feeling hopelessly stuck, but God has not given up on you. He still has a great plan for your life in spite of it all. Allow God in the dark hidden parts of your heart to heal past wounds so you don't have to walk with a limp anymore. Let Him remove the pain of the past once and for all. Come in agreement with your Heavenly Father and tell your heart to beat again, to hope again, to dream again and to believe again. It's time for you to get back up again because it's never to late to become all that God has destined you to be."
Written by Bernie Herms, Matthew West and Randy Phillips, "Tell Your Heart to Beat Again" is a song lifted from Gokey's most recent album Hope in Front of Me. The album was released on June 23, 2014 by BMG Records.
The album was produced by Josh Crosby, Bernie Herms, Aaron Sprinkle, Keith Thomas. The lead single from the album is "Hope in Front of Me", released on February 18, 2014. In August, it peaked at No. 4 on the Hot Christian Songs chart, No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart (lasted 3 weeks) and No. 27 on the Adult Contemporary chart of Billboard.
