Lauren Daigle Raises Almost $17K to Help Inmates at Angola

Lauren Daigle is giving back this Christmas in a big way. On Giving Tuesday, Daigle posted to her Facebook page, asking her followers to partner with her and her team to gift the prisoners at Angola State Prison with calls and clothes. On Wednesday, she announced that the campaign raised nearly $17,000 to fund clothing and phone calls for the people there this Christmas.
She writes: "Thanks to the support of everyone who contributed on Giving Tuesday, we raised nearly $17,000 to fund clothing and calls home this Christmas. Your generosity will provide more than 70,000 minutes of connection to friends, family and loved ones."
While at the prison, Daigle performed for inmates, and met, spoke, and ate with them.
Lauren Daigle is a two-time Billboard Music Award winner, a two-time Grammy nominee and an American Music Award winner. With a voice that is both smoky and sweet, Daigle has forged a unique sound that is reminiscent of the soulful, heart-in-throat vulnerability of Adele mixed with the raw power of Amy Winehouse.
