Phil Wickham "Floored by God's Grace" After 3 Wins at the 2022 GMA Dove Awards
Phil Wickham picked up three trophies at last Friday's 2022 GMA Dove Awards. He was awarded Songwriter of the Year, while his album Hymn of Heaven was named Worship Album of the Year and the title track was named Worship Recorded Song of the Year. He also performed his four-week No. 1 Billboard Christian Airplay hit "House of the Lord." His acceptance speech was filled with gratitude as he noted he has been leading worship in various church services since he was in his early teens.
"I've been leading worship since I was 12 years old. I can't believe God would give me a voice beyond the walls of my church to write new prayers for the church to sing. It's just another reason to remember God's grace and faithfulness in our lives."
Wickham continues, "Incredibly honored and humbled to have received @gmadoveawards for "Worship Album of the Year", "Songwriter of the Year (Artist)" and "Worship Recorded Song of the Year (Hymn Of Heaven)."
"Floored once again by God's grace and kindness that I even get to do this. What a joy and privilege it is to write new songs for the church to sing, and to do it alongside this beautiful family/community. There are so many people to thank in future posts, but for now I'll just leave it here: Thank you Father for sending your son Jesus to rescue us. Thank you Jesus for going the greatest lengths to redeem us. Thank you for the cross. Thank you for the empty grave. Thank you for giving me reason and purpose, a future Hope and a present joy. You are and will forever be the center of my song."
