Caroline Cobb Releases Her First Book "Advent for Exiles"

Today songwriter and storyteller Caroline Cobb releases her first book, Advent for Exiles (B&H Publishing). This special advent devotional features 25 devotions to awaken Christmas hope in every longing heart. Purchase the Scripture-rich companion for the Advent season now.
Just in time for the holidays right around the corner, this 25-day devotional weaves Scripture readings, song lyrics, poetic prose, biblical imagery, and responsive exercises to help readers joyfully celebrate Christ's first arrival while deeply longing for His second.
"Advent for Exiles is designed to help you make ready. Its primary aim is to whet your appetite for the coming of Christ," shares Caroline Cobb.
In 2020, Cobb released A Seed, A Sunrise, an album that explored the ache of Advent, the joy of Christmas, and the expectant yearning for Christ's return. That album inspired this Advent devotional as she dove deeper into the poetic imagery of Isaiah and the biblical theme of exile. What began as a side project after her Christmas album, Cobb soon discovered that she had barely scratched the surface of the poetic imagery of Isaiah and began to write this book. With her music as inspiration, listen to the devotional playlist on Spotify to accompany Advent for Exiles.
Cobb adds, "I wanted to draw more connections between our current experience and the biblical theme of exile and help readers imaginatively engage in the ache of Advent as a way of expanding their joy at Christ's coming. Advent for Exiles is the fruit of more than two years of writing and wrestling this deep dive into words."
Check out the tour dates to hear Caroline Cobb perform and speak about this book.
