Gospel Singer Vicki Yohe Speaks Out Amidst Arrest of David E. Taylor

Gospel singer Vicki Yohe has publicly addressed the recent arrest of televangelist David E. Taylor, founder of Joshua Media Ministries International (JMMI), and executive Michelle Brannon. The pair face federal charges related to forced labor and money laundering, following a multi-state investigation into their ministry's operations.
Yohe, who was previously in a 16-month relationship with Taylor, has long been outspoken about her experiences within his ministry. In 2020, she released a book detailing her relationship with Taylor, during which she claims he manipulated her into a sexual relationship under the guise of spiritual guidance. She alleges that Taylor used his position to exploit women for sex, often threatening to release compromising photos if they spoke out.
In a recent statement, Yohe expressed her relief at the legal actions taken against Taylor and Brannon. "There were so many people that were taken advantage of, and I was one of them," she said. "I experienced firsthand the abuse, the lies, and corruption of both of the individuals who were arrested."
The federal investigation has uncovered disturbing patterns of manipulation, forced labor, and lavish spending within JMMI. Former members, including Yohe, have shared accounts of fear, exhaustion, and trauma, describing experiences of sleep deprivation, humiliation, and threats of divine punishment. The indictment also alleges misuse of ministry funds for Taylor's opulent lifestyle.
Yohe's decision to speak out aims to shed light on the alleged abuses within Taylor's ministry and to support other victims who may have suffered in silence. She encourages anyone with similar experiences to come forward and seek justice.
