Bourne 5 Latest News: Matt Damon might not come back for the sequel but Jeremy Renner aka Aaron Cross will reprise his kick-ass agent role
Matt Damon may not reprising his role for the upcoming Bourne 5 movie despite rumors back in June that he will be returning to the franchise. According to producer Frank Marshall, those are not true. However, it is confirmed that Jeremy Renner (Avengers' Hawkeye for you Marvel fans) will be reprising his role of Aaron Cross.
And yes, simply speaking Bourne 5th movie confirmed for a future release.
It's quite unfortunate as the last installment of the Bourne franchise did not seem to appease it's fan base, however even with the doubt of Bourne 5 ever making its way to the big screen, it is clear that production is going well for the action movie franchise.
The first three films followed the story of an amnesiac CIA assassin, Jason Bourne, who was portrayed by Matt Damon, which was based off the book with the same title written by Robert Ludlum. However come the fourth film, the story suddenly shifted over to Jeremy Renner's character Aaron Cross. However, in order to satisfy fans, the team hired Sherlock Holmes and Invictus screenwriter, Anthony Peckham, to write the script for the Bourne 5th movie. However, many do say that the upcoming movie will no longer be loyal to the story Ludlum had written in the first place.
The Bourne 5 movie is set to be released on 2016.
