Tony Evans Announces New Book and Speaking Tour Following Ministry Restoration

Only a few weeks after elders at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF) in Dallas publicly restored him to ministry, renowned pastor, teacher, and author Dr. Tony Evans has announced the release of his newest book and a forthcoming national speaking tour.

In an exclusive interview with Religion News Service (RNS), Dr. Evans shared details about his upcoming book, Unleashed: Releasing God's Glorious Kingdom in and Through You, set to be released by Thomas Nelson Publishers on October 28, 2025. The book, written during a deeply personal season of reflection, explores what it means for believers to live as conduits of God's kingdom power and purpose in their everyday lives.

"This book is about how people can take the concept of the kingdom and release it in and through their lives," Dr. Evans told RNS. "God's kingdom is not just something to be talked about-it's meant to be experienced, demonstrated, and lived out in every area of life."

Dr. Evans' new project comes at a significant moment in his ministry journey. On October 5, 2025, he was publicly restored to ministry during an emotional ceremony at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, where he has served faithfully for more than four decades. As part of the restoration process, Dr. Evans officially relinquished his role as Senior Pastor, passing the mantle of leadership to his son, Jonathan Evans, who now leads the church.

The restoration followed a season of withdrawal from pastoral duties in 2024, when Dr. Evans stepped down after acknowledging an undisclosed "sin." While the nature of the sin was not made public, Evans emphasized at the time that he desired to walk through a process of repentance, accountability, and renewal in accordance with biblical principles.

During his time away from the pulpit, Dr. Evans continued his work through The Urban Alternative, the national ministry he founded to promote a clear understanding of the kingdom agenda and to equip Christians to impact the world for Christ. It was during this period that Unleashed began to take shape, blending theological reflection with practical insights drawn from his decades of preaching and teaching.

"Whatever life I have left, I want to maximize at the highest possible level for God's kingdom and for eternity," the 76-year-old pastor told RNS. "My desire is to finish well-to see God's power released through me and through His people in new and greater ways."

Unleashed continues Evans' life-long focus on the "kingdom agenda," a phrase he popularized to describe the visible manifestation of God's rule through the faith, character, and actions of His people. Throughout the book, Evans calls readers to rediscover the dynamic relationship between personal transformation and societal renewal-how individual obedience can lead to collective revival.

The release of Unleashed will coincide with a multi-city speaking tour, where Dr. Evans is expected to appear at churches, leadership conferences, and ministry events across the United States.
