Forever Show Reveals, Spoilers, Reviews and Rumors: New Show Coming to ABC, Ioan Gruffudd to Play Dr. Henry Morgan
It is not often that a medical drama, a crime drama and a supernatural drama are meshed into one. These three situations seem like quite odd bedfellows but somehow they have been made to work in ABC's new show 'forever'. The show which is set in New York City has a unique story line which could propel it to great fame and immeasurable popularity or bring down ABC with it. Okay I'm exaggerating but it needs careful and proper execution otherwise it could fail spectacularly.
The show is about Dr. Henry Morgan who is New York's star medical examiner. Dr. Henry Morgan apart from being simply dashing is cursed with immortality. His immortality is what propels his interest in the human body and why his own cannot just die or rather stay dead. Every time he dies he emerges from a nearby body of water completely naked with no memory of what happened. This has apparently been going on for two hundred years. Since he has lived so long he has gained a sherlockian level of observation which intrigues his new partner Detective Jo Martinez. The episodes are set up in a way that every week there will be revelations about his past. Which shall be an interesting journey through American History, I am willing to bet he took part in the revolutionary war Sleepy Hollow style. Anyway we expect there shall be some attraction between the good doctor and his partner. Like I said the plot reads very well but in actuality the director and his actors need to put in a lot of work to make it work. Scenes from the past need to be really convincing and the doctor have to convince us that he's from the past else it could all fall flat.
Ioan Gruffudd who played Mr. Fantastic in the 2005 movie shall be playing the playing the immortal Dr. Henry Morgan. Alana de la Garza has been cast as Detective Jo Martinez. The show has been slotted for Tuesday's at 9:30 as from September23rd but shall be showing a special sneak premiere on September 22nd.
