BBMak Announces Details of First Album in 17 Years

The recently-reunited boy band BBMak has announced details of their first album in 17 years. The album, which releases in August, is entitled Powerstation and it features 10 new songs from Christian Burns, Mark Barry and Stephen McNally. The set was produced by the group with Jonathan Radford Mead, Steve Chrisanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae) and Firebox.
"Lyrically, this album has grown a little bit from our last album," Burns tells Billboard. "The voices have changed slightly -- and not necessarily for the worse. Just changed and matured. And we've all experienced a lot in our lives over the past 16 years."
"I think the main thing is we've experimented with some different sounds and some electronic elements on the album," says Burns. "But it's not an electronic album. It's very guitar-led. It's just different flavors, really, experimenting with different techniques of recording, different ways to articulate the (vocal) harmonies in the production process. But on the whole, it's the three of us together, singing that BBMak sound. That's the glue of what we do."
"Back in the day we were like brothers, and we're dear friends still to this day because we've stayed in touch. We've seen some of the other bands come back and having a good time performing, and we missed it," Burns tells PEOPLE exclusively about why they decided now was the perfect time to make their comeback. "We had done some songs on our own and we thought, 'We have some songs here.' It just felt like the right time to do it."
The track list for Powerstation includes:
1. Bullet Train
2. So Far Away
3. No One Like You
4. Uncivil War
5. You Don't See Me
6. We Can Be Lovers
7. Wolves
8. Falling Up
9. Out Of Time
10. Powerstation
Together they sold three million albums and had hit singles worldwide between 1999 and 2003 when they disbanded. The band guest starred on ABC's All My Children in 2000 and Disney's Even Stevens in 2001. They also featured on many movie soundtracks.
