Maverick City Music Has a Stronghold on Billboard's Gospel Album Chart This Week

Maverick City Music has a stronghold on Billboard's Gospel Album chart this week. Their brand new album Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition debuts on the tally at #2 and #8 on the Billboard Top Christian Album chart. The set earned 3,000 equivalent album units in the tracking week ending June 24.
At #1 on the Gospel Album chart is their collaborative effort with Elevation Worship. Old Church Basement opened at No. 1 on both Top Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums in May. It rules Top Gospel Albums for an eighth week and rebounds 2-1 for a fifth week atop Top Christian Albums, with 6,000 units.
Maverick City also makes history this week by being the only collective to claim the top two spots on Top Gospel Albums. As for soloists, Yolanda Adams and Kirk Franklin have held Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously for nine weeks each in that span; Aretha Franklin did so for two weeks; and Lecrae, for one.
