Celebrating Gospel Heritage Month: Blacksmoke Music Releases "The Blacksmoke Music Collective"

Blacksmoke Music Worldwide, one of the nation's leading Gospel labels, continues to set the standard under the leadership of music mogul Kerry Douglas. Known for developing and promoting artists who consistently rise to the top of the Billboard Radio and Sales charts, the label's roster spans traditional Gospel, Contemporary, Urban Inspiration, Christian Hip Hop, and Praise & Worship.
In celebration of Gospel Music Heritage Month this September, Blacksmoke has united eight of its standout artists for a powerful 12-track compilation, The Blacksmoke Music Collective. Featured on the project are Jokia, Cedric Ballard, Pastor John Elmore, LaShá Knox, Earnest Pugh, Zacardi Cortez, The Family, and Jevon Dewand & The Trap Starz. Together, they showcase Gospel's rich diversity-ranging from powerhouse vocals to innovative worship and urban fusions-under one groundbreaking release.
Leading the collection are Billboard chart-topper Zacardi Cortez, celebrated for his unmatched vocal agility and soul-drenched delivery, and the legendary group The Family, whose harmonies bring depth and authenticity. Rising star LaShá Knox contributes a fresh, passionate sound that blends contemporary style with heartfelt worship, while Earnest Pugh affirms his place as one of Gospel's most beloved voices. Songs from Jevon Dewand & The Trap Starz, Pastor John Elmore, and Cedric Ballard further expand the project's musical reach with energy and spiritual impact.
The compilation also debuts Jokia's brand-new single, "So Happy," produced by hitmaker Jazze Pha. The track is a soulful, funky, Gospel-inspired anthem, fueled by infectious horns, Jazze Pha's trademark energy, and Jokia's heartfelt vocals-a celebration of joy, resilience, and freedom.
"So Happy is my personal celebration of joy after overcoming seasons of struggle," Jokia shares. "It's about choosing happiness as a declaration of faith and resilience-dancing through life's challenges and inspiring others to do the same. Whether at a praise break, a cookout, or just driving with the windows down, it's meant to lift spirits, get people moving, and remind them that joy is powerful."
To mark the release, The Blacksmoke Music Collective will host a special live concert at SiriusXM studios in New York. Fans can tune in on Wednesday, September 24 at 1 PM Eastern / 10 AM Pacific on SiriusXM's Kirk Franklin's Praise Channel. Rebroadcasts will air Saturday, September 27 at 1 PM Eastern / 10 AM Pacific, and Sunday, September 28 at 6 PM Eastern / 3 PM Pacific. The full concert will also be available to watch on the Blacksmoke Music/Kerry Douglas YouTube channel.
The Blacksmoke Music Collective is now available on all digital music outlets.
